AB 123 - Expands Licensure Exemptions for Community Care Facilities Assembly Bill 123 (hereinafter “AB 123”) expands the types of affordable housing for elderly or disables persons that are exempt from the licensure requirements for residential community care facilities. Existing law requires operators of community care facilities to maintain a license through the Department of Social Services. AB 123 adds exemptions to the licensing requirement for Section 8 subsidized housing and low income tax credit housing occupied by elderly or disabled persons if the housing providers do not directly provide supportive services, but merely assist residents to obtain community-based supportive services. |
